So I’ve just learned that Richmond made the CBS Sunday Morning show (December 18) with a national story about our infamous tacky Christmas lights house tour! Way to go RVA!

One of the things I love most about Richmond… it’s full of contrasts and contradictions! Our proper Southern style gets blown out of the water each December when Richmonders get carried away by the magic of Christmas. Our home was on the tour in years past, and we’re re-inspired to join the fun again in Christmases future! I call our display and design tastefully tacky. Phillip has hand made many of the outdoor decorations! It’s a big job and huge commitment, but as one of the home owners mentioned- if you’ve participated in the display, you almost feel a sense of obligation. The RVA over-the-top celebration of Christmas brings such joy to so many, especially the children!

Thanks to all the families who work so hard and pay those extra utility bills to make these houses so special for the holiday season!
